RJM Builders loves a custom home. We celebrate and encourage individuality because we know everyone is an individual and that means so is their idea of a dream home

With a custom build we aim to be there from design to turn-key, and when we come in post design, we take our time to understand your needs and so we can deliver above your expectations.

When approached to be the builder of an architectural home our clients usually have drawings developed, however for those who don’t, we can help direct you to the designer/architect that’s best for you by helping you understand what to look for and what questions to ask. Prior to our first consultation we like to get to know who you are and also tell you about ourselves. We send you a short questionnaire to understand what you are looking for from a builder, what’s important to you about your sanctuary and why you are choosing to build.

Next is our favourite part of the journey … getting to meet you! Our first consultation is a friendly meet and greet, with discussions about your sanctuary to really cement our understanding of your needs, followed by any suggestions we may have to help with your journey.

After our consultation we offer multiple quoting services for you to choose from depending on your situation. These options include: direction/Information; finance/lending services; provisional budget reviews; and detailed tender development. Working with you to achieve a comfortable build cost and helping you to understand and clearly explain what you will be getting is a high priority for us. After we have found this figure it is time for contract signing before the all-important start of your sanctuary!

During the construction of your sanctuary it used to be the case that you would visit site a few times during the build and choose a limited selection of fixtures and fittings. NOT ANYMORE!! Our project management software Buildertrend puts you right on the job site. With daily logs of onsite process, an interactive selection page that we can customise to your style suggestions, the ability to check the jobs schedule, and even track project spending. Buildertrend also provides a great platform for you to communicate with onsite supervisors/lead hand carpenter, sub-contractors and of course your builder!! We aim to provide an experience where you can be as involved as possible, because at the end of the day this is your sanctuary and there will be no other like it.

Completion of your project is time for celebration! Our handover includes a welcome-home bundle, a half day spent with your builder meeting industry colleagues that will give you a personal tutorial on how to use their products such as: ducted air-conditioning; pool management and how to use control systems; audio and visual technology; smart home automation; ZIP water systems; garage doors; and dumbwaiters just to name a few. Finally, the handover of your keys- for most this is the last time builders are involved but once again not us. We like to make sure you are settling in comfortably and we are always there to help with future questions after moving in!

Boree Street, Kedron

One of our most extensive architectural custom builds was a 3-story home with an underground garage, gym, and a wine cellar with under pool views. The right-hand side of the house was wrapped with a 25 meter lap pool that connects to the back of house leisure area of the pool. Features out the front of the house are two stone faced walls with the entrance wall being feature tiled floor to ceiling. This stone was also used in the centre of the house to produce a beautiful floor to ceiling fireplace wall in the main living area, that opened the house by connecting both the lower and upper levels. This project embodied both commercial and residential building practises and was a great build to be in charge of. Here’s what the clients had to say:

YarRadale Street, Newmarket

Another of our new build involved a multi-level timber framed house is an excellent example of breaking away from cookie cutter builds. This build was designed considering the projects site and the owner’s needs and desires. The 4-bedroom house is separated amongst 4 levels!! Ground floor consist of two bedrooms, a bathroom, garage, media room and a man-cave/ hobby room. Moving up to the next floor is a third bedroom with patio area, bathroom, water closet/ powder room and the laundry. Level three is the main living and entertainment area consisting of the welcoming front entrance, a private courtyard area, office/ study, Kitchen, dining and family room and a large rear deck to enjoy outdoor entertainment accompanied with city views. Finally, we reach the fourth level of the house dedicated to the master bedroom inclusive of ensuite, walk in robe, private deck with city views as well as an undercover spa that opens to the deck to enjoy those private uninterrupted city views.
